It is the Season of the Lung

Dear Patron,

As mentioned in our previous message to you, in autumn, your lungs will dominate your health. And now, autumn is in full swing. It is time to trade frozen yogurt, smoothies for hot soups and steamed vegetables.

It is vital to use warm food to ward off the cold "evil" energy which can affect your meridian channels. Also, lungs connect to your skin, so get covered and stay warm.

We would like to provide a list of things that can balance your qi in this season:

Apples, cranberries, pears, figs, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, broccoli, squash, ginger, cinnamon.

Also, pls be advised that since the color white is for the lungs in Chinese Medicine, any produce with white color can benefit your lungs so as to bring overall health to your body.

These include: white turnip, lotus roots, pears, etc.

For how to receive autumn massage at our spa, refer to our previous message regarding "autumn massage".

Thanks!

May Wang, HHP

Great food advice for the lungs. Just a few advice also from me, vitamin B is great help to maintain the healthy functions of your lungs, this help in normal cell development, in fact this could lower the risk of lung cancer. Increasing the blood levels of methionine and vitamin B6 can promote the normal function of lungs cells. There has a lot of advantage of vitamin B in our health and to our vital organs. Such food like chicken, broccoli, spinach, salmon, tuna, avocadoes and artichokes. Moreover, the source of methionine is from meat and fish as well as sesame seeds.

These are the foods that are readily available because they are in season in the fall. Hot soups hit the right spot every time.
